8 Summer Vintage Finds from Depop Worth Saving to Your Likes Tab
Because not every 90s-Y2K look was low-rise denim and a Juicy zip-up.
There’s something about late 90s and early 2000s fashion that feels… deliberate. From contrast stitching to asymmetric closures and fake pocket flaps, the design details went a little harder (even in mall brands). It wasn’t always about minimal effort or chasing shock value. These eight vintage finds from Depop show that Y2K had range.
1. Cop Copine Black Mini Dress
French label Cop Copine’s been around since the late ’80s making quietly strange, sharply tailored pieces that don’t try too hard.
Military vibes, orange contrast stitching, and real front pockets. Form and function both showing up. Definitely not your average tank dress.
2. City Triangles Pink Tweed Mini Dress
City Triangles was a department store staple in the ‘90s and early 2000s. Affordable, ultra-trendy, and everywhere.
This one’s peak mall era with just enough attitude. Clueless-coded and easy to wear. Light pink and black tweed with a bow at the chest and zip-up back. No flaws, no notes, just good 90s mall energy.
3. Lydia Shimmery White Corset Top
The Lydia brand was another one of those Y2K mall-era labels that gave 110% on going out tops.
Asymmetrical button front, a shiny finish, and just enough drama. Also has little front flaps pretending to be pockets and adjustable straps.
4. Victoria’s Secret Black Halter Top
Early 2000s black cowl neck top with circle hardware and sheer hem. The kind of thing that showed up in VS swimwear catalogs and then at every party after. From back when VS actually made clothes.
Victoria’s Secret started in ’77 because a guy felt weird buying lingerie for his wife at a department store. So he built a place that felt more like a men’s club than a women’s shop. It didn’t turn into the glitzy, ultra-feminine brand everyone knows until the late ’80s, when someone else took over and flipped the vibe completely.
5. Forever 21 Black and Beige Floral Print Cami
Beige and black floral cami with contrast trim and button-back detail. Semi-sheer with a bit of stretch. Spaghetti straps. Tagged Forever 21.
Forever 21 started in LA in 1984 as “Fashion 21,” a 900-square-foot shop catering to Korean-American customers. It blew up fast by dropping trend cycles weekly. Basically, it’s the blueprint for what fast fashion is now.
6. Bisou Jeans Beige Cardigan
Beige cardigan with silver studs and belt detail.
Bisou Bisou was a staple of early 2000s mall fashion: flirty silhouettes, unique trims, and body-conscious cuts. It nailed the “trendy but accessible” vibe of the Y2K era.
7. Killah White Pleated Mini Skirt
Low-rise pleated mini skirt with silver grommet details and a matching belt. Soft ivory cotton color.
Killah was Miss Sixty’s cooler little sister launched in the late ’90s to target the younger, more rebellious crowd. Bold prints, flirty cuts, and Y2K mall energy.
8. Judy Jr. Pink Beaded Mesh Halter
2000s baby pink halter with ruched mesh and a rhinestone drop neckline.
Judy Jr. was one of many lesser-known brands from the late ’90s and early 2000s that quietly filled racks at department stores and mall shops. You’ll find the name on everything from baby tees to clubwear, usually tagged with a “Made in the USA” paper label.
